NPFL: Abia Warriors deny Doma top spot, Rangers thrash Gombe United

Abia Warriors recorded an impressive 3-0 win against Doma United at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Saturday.

Veteran defender Ifeanyi Anaemena netted the opener from the spot in the 43rd minute of the game.

Sunday Megwo added the second immediately after the start of the second half, while Ojonugwa Adejoh rounded up the scoring in the final minute of the encounter.

In Enugu, Rangers defeated struggling Gombe United 4-1.

Veteran forward Godwin Obaje netted a brace for the Flying Antelopes in the game.

Chidiebere Nwobodo and Kenechukwu Agu scored the other goals.

Wasiu Alalade scored the visitor’s solitary goal.

At the New Jos Stadium, Yakubu Adams scored the only goal as Plateau United defeated Enyimba 1-0.

Niger Tornadoes continued their resurgence with a goalless away draw against Sunshine Stars at the Akure Sports Complex.

The remaining matchday 18 fixtures will be played on Monday and Tuesday across different centres.
