Nigerians Lament High Cost of Living, Hardship

The rising cost of living in Nigeria can be said to have become a source of worry to people of all walks of life.
     Currently, Nigeria has been battling unemployment, insecurity, inflation and other challenges that appear insurmountable before the present administration of President Bola Tinubu,  who assumed office of May 29, 2023.
    Although, the President, Bola Tinubu, had taken some steps towards tackling the hardtimes the citizens are facing by cutting number of his entourage while traveling outside the country.
    Also, there have been calls on the Federal Government to reduce the jumbo salaries being received by National Assembly members and other stakeholders in Nigeria.
    In an interview with Daily Nigerian Telegraph Correspondent, A Barbing Saloon operator, Charles Iwuanyanwu, said life has been so difficult for him because of the economic situation of the country.
   “It has not been easy for me. The high cost of fuel pump price, per litre, is affecting my business. I buy a litre for Six Hundred and Eighty Naira (₦680) due to non- electricity supply”.
    A Civil Servant, Ngozi Uwajimogu, expressed worry over the rising prices of food stuffs and other things in Nigeria. She attributed the development and therefore called on Government to intervene.
    A trader, Ujunwa Unanka, that sells food stuffs in the market, noted, that the production of food stuffs in Nigeria are reducing.
    “Bandits are nologer allowing us have peace of mind. We are being chased away from our farmlands by herdsmen”.
