NDYM Drums Support to NDDC, Presents New Excos

The Imo State chapter of Niger Delta Youth Movement (NDYM) Wednesday paid a solidarity visit to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Imo State Secretariat, Owerri.

NDYM led by the State Chairman, Comr.  Chinonye Emmanuel Ugorji were at the NDDC Owerri Secretariat in their numbers to congratulate the newly appointed NDDC Commissioner representing Imo State at the NDDC Board, Engr. Kyrian Uchegbu, to assure the NDDC Rep and the entire agency of Imo Niger Deltas unalloyed corporation and to formerly introduce the new State leadership of Niger Delta Youth Movement.

Speaking, the NDYM National Contact and Mobilization, Barr. Ezekwesiri Nwauwa, explained, “We are here to congratulate our own; the NDDC Commissioner, Engr. Kyrian Uchegbu on his reappointment to man the affairs of the commission. We want him to know that we are with him, and that as we gave him our maximum support in his first tenure, so we will in this his second term in making sure the oil producing areas; Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru East are developed.

“We are also here to inform him about the existence of the new executives of NDYM, ably led by Chinonye Emmanuel Ugorji, ‘Nwauwa averred”.

The President of the National Congress of Ohaji Youths, Comrade Nwosu Nicholas Tochukwu who reiterated that they were there to formally congratulate the Commissioner, and present the new leadership of NDYM, reaffirmed their readiness to work with the Commissioner “gone are the days when Niger Delta Youths are said to be violent; we are now peaceful to allow development to thrive in our areas, and we are calling on the Commissioner to cue into that spirit to move the Niger Delta Commission forward.

“The oil producing areas need to be developed. We are the geese that lay the golden egg, and so attention need to be given to us for the marginalization and the neglect is too much. We are not happy, but we will continue to use peaceful means to send out our agitations, and tell the Government of how our youths, women need to be empowered, our road tiled, and our areas developed” Nwosu stated’.

Speaking for Egbema youth, Elems Nzecollins Onyemazuwa who is the current State Security Officer of NDYM urged the NDDC Commissioner to ignore any person or group coming up to say otherwise about the NDYM Chairman as he disclosed that the Chairman was duly elected by the youth from Imo Niger Delta region to handle the affairs of the movement as they believe in his capabilities to deliver.

Speaking on behalf of Oru East LGA, Comr. Anthony Ikenna who is currently the Treasurer of NDYM, noted that Oru East people are solidly behind the new leadership of NDYM even as he assured of working in synergy with the Commissioner for the betterment of all their people
