Incoming D-Gov, Ekomaru Lauds Retired Anglican Bishop

The incoming Imo State Deputy Governor – Elect, Lady Chinyere Ekeomaru, has described the retiring Bishop of Okigwe Diocese, Rt. Rev. Edward C. D Osuegbu as a true man of God who served him with all his heart.

She said this at the thanksgiving service to God for 37 years of marriage, for 15 years of Episcopacy, and for 40 years of Priesthood, in which God has been sustaining the Osuegbu family, which took place at St. Andrews Anglican Church Okwele, in Onuimo Local Government Area of Imo State.

Also speaking, Rt. Rev. Dozie Obi, the Pioneer Bishop of Okigwe Diocese noted that the essence of creating the Diocese was for Evangelism and expressed satisfaction that the mandate was accomplished during his 15 years Episcopacy.

He explained that the Diocese witnessed spiritual growth through Training and Ordination of Priests, Recruitments, Workshops, Retreats and Seminars, which has made the Diocese grow to 20 new Churches, 10 new Parishes and 6 Arch Deaconries.

The Celebrant, Bishop Osuegbu thanked God for the expansion and abundant Grace bestowed on him and his family to do his work, and admonished Christians to remain strong, grow in Grace, endeavor to win Souls for the Lord and await his reward.

Earlier in his Sermon, the Arch Bishop of Aba province, Most Rev Isaac Nwobia commended Bishop Osuegbu for his selfless service to God, and reminded him of God’s Blessings to those that serve him diligently.

The event attracted the presence of Bishop of Isimbano Diocese, Rt. Rev. Godson Ukanwa, Bishop of Ohaji Egbema, Rt. Rev. Chidi Collins Oparaojiaku, Bishop, Diocese of Amaichi, Rt. Rev. Ephraim Ikeako, dignitaries from all walks of life, family, friends and well-wishers.
