Inauguration: Nwaneri Commends Uzodimma
… Calls for abolishment of harsh practices on Nigerian Widows
The President, National Widows Association of Nigeria, Imo State Chapter and Southeast; Hon. Mrs. Chioma Nwaneri, has commended the Imo Governor, Distinguished Sen. Hope Uzodimma, on his second term victory and inauguration ceremonies, saying that Sen. Uzodimma deserves to be re-elected.
She said this in Owerri, the Imo State capital, Wednesday, while addressing Journalists about the re-election of Governor Uzodimma and her Deputy, Lady Chinyere Ekomaru.
Nwaneri, expressed joy that the governor had carried Imo Widows along in the scheme of things, expressing joy did well for them through the immediate-past Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Nkechi Ugwu.
“We are aware the governor is doing well for us but we want him to do more. We know that God is by their side. Let the governor continue to take Imo to greater heights. We are appreciative of his benevolence towards us, the widows”, she said.
She also pleaded with Governor Uzodimma to come to their aid by Commissioning and institutionalizing the association in order to ensure that Widows are not subjected to harsh practices by their late husbands’ family members.
The National Widows’ President therefore promised that their association would continue to support the governor on his second missionary journey, advising Imo people to commend the governor and his wife, Her Excellency, Barr. Chioma Uzodimma for their laudable achievements.
