ANGLICAN CHURCH HONOURS REV CHINEDU NMEZI WITH AWARD

A Canadian–based philanthropist, and cleric, Rev’d Chinedu Nmezi, on Wednesday, December 25th, 2024, received a award of excellence in recognition of his exemplary contributions to the church and dedicated service to humanity.
Chinedu, and his wife, Evang. Vivian are founders of Vivian Nmezi Humanitarian Foundation, which based in Canada.
Presenting the merit award, at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Nkwerre, in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State, the Vicar, Rev’d Maxwell Mgbemere, said, the church decided to honour Rev’d Nmezi because of the good work he is doing in lives of people.
He noted, that the recipient was nominated for the award in honour of his outstanding contributions to the advancement of the gospel and the support for the less privileged persons in the society.
Responding, shortly after he received the award, Rev’d Nmezi said, he was happy to have been honoured by the Anglican church.
According to him, “This honour is a call for more work. I am not going to take this award for granted, I hereby dedicate it to my wife”, he said.
The philanthropist described his return to the village for Christmas celebration as a fruitful one and a well- utilized stay, saying, that the award he received is a reward for a good work and they would continue to do more.
Earlier, Rev’d Nmezi who also preached at the Church, on the Christmas day, before he was honoured, enjoined Christians to always celebrate the birth of Christ with adoration and praises.
He narrated how God performed miracles by feeding the multitude with fish and bread, and said God does not fail those that put their trust in him.
“The work of labourers does not go in vain in the house of God”.
In their remarks, Wife of the award recipient, Evang. Vivian Nmezi, the woman leader of Umugara village, Mrs Jimimah Diribe, and some of his kinsmen who were in attendance, congratulated Reverend Chinedu Nmezi on the award, describing him as a man dedicated to the course of humanity.
