Alvan Ikoku University lauds students on excellence in JAMB exams
 Dr Stella Ngozi Lemchi’s led Management has commended the two  students of Avana Model Secondary School, Owerri, who distinguished themselves in the last Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) Examination with their scores.
The Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor Admin, Dr Stella Ngozi Lemchi together with the members of her Management made the commendation in her office when the Students and their parents accompanied by the principal of the school, Dr Mrs Ngozi Ifediatu visited her in her office.
Dr Lemchi while speaking, expressed happiness over the outstanding performance of the students and attributed it to God’s grace and hard work of the students and teachers,not leaving their parents behind.
She encouraged the students not to relent in their hard work, reminding that greater challenges await them as they pursue their academic career.
Dr Lemchi prayed God to bless their feature endeavors.
Other members of the management, the former Deputy Provost, Dr Ngozi Ebomuche, the Ag Registrar, Barr BF Anyanwu, the Ag. Bursar, Dr Nicholas Nkworji and the Ag. Librarian, Dr Mrs Uchenna Nwaigwe took their turn in encouraging the students, maintaining that hard work and good behavior pays.
 In their separate remark, the parents  of the children, Dr Okwara and Architect Leonard Ozuzu who could not hide their joy attributed the academic progress made by their children to Dr Stella Lemchi’s led administration, pointing out that Alvana Model Secondary School has the best teachers. They also disclosed that their older children passed through Alvana and are doing very well in their various field of studies.
They also went further to acknowledge the tireless efforts of their wives toward their children’s academic excellence. In the words of Dr Chidiebere Okwara…”my wife is the star lady here, I give it to her for being the brain behind the scene”.
 They also thanked the staff and management of the school for the level of discipline  inculcated in the children and prayed God to see them through.
The students also took their turn in expressing their experiences. Miss Faith N. Chidiebere who scored 305 and has been offered admission to study Medicine and Surgery in the Imo state University said that it was not easy to make that score,as she worked so hard to achieve it. While master Chiedoziem Ozuzu who scored 271 and has been offered admission to study Mechanical Engineering in the Federal University Of Technology, FUTO stated that he took it as a challenge and by the grace of God made it, adding that he needed to set good example as the senior prefect of the school during his time.
