Alleged 5,000 USD Fraud: Adamu debunks allegation

The former Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma on  Northern Affairs, Ambassador Hassan Adamu, has described it as false an allegation levelled against him by members of Arewa United for Peace Foundation.
   Addressing Journalists in Owerri, on Wednesday, Adamu alleged, that the association, led by Alhaji Nura Shettima, accused him of impersonation, saying he used their foundation’s name to secure intimacy with the Sariki on self- interest.
  “They accused me of misappropriation and diversion of Five Thousand (5,000) United States dollars  and using their letterhead paper to secure grants from the United Arab Emirates.This is false and not true”.
  Ambassador  Adamu further disclosed that he had already tendered complaints to the Commissioner of Police, The Director of the State Security Service, Civil Defence and other security agencies in the State.
 He therefore threatened to go to Court if his accusers fail to apologize to him within 48 hours of the Press briefing.
   “I am a respected peace Ambassador whose works are enshrined to interstate and guarantee unity, peace and progress between Hausa ethnic community and that of Imo State. I have never been involved in any criminal activities. It was an aim to tarnish my image”, he said.
   Adding their voices, Members of the International  Human Rights Commission, Mr Uchendu, Mr Fidelis Onakpoma, Fidelis and others described Ambassador Adamu as a God-fearing person, urging those behind the accusation to apologize immediately.
   They also used the medium to salute Imo workers on their May day celebration and  pleaded with Governor Uzodimma to increase their wages.
