EMMANUEL OGEBE, ESQUIRE: A HUMANITARIAN PAR EXCELLENCE
BY SAMPSON UHUEGBU
Perhaps, the  former United States President, Abraham Lincoln had Barrister Emmanuel Ogebe, Esquire in mind when he said, and I quote: “Man owes to humanity without question to leave every society as he met it. That’s the merit for contributing his quota”.
Ogebe has clearly contributed his quota. He was born to make the world a better place and he has lived up to that assignment. His overwhelming humility; coupled with a renewed quest for excellence in the midst of uncertainty has earned him respect.
He has continued to make citizens proud because of his act of human kindness, and positively touched lives in Nigeria and other countries of the world.
Barr. Ogebe took the case up to the Supreme Court, and the imprisoned Ihejirika was finally released. For the kind act, this gentleman has received praises for the pro bono services he offered selflessly.

He is an experienced attorney specializing in International matters focusing on Nigeria, and has played a role in shaping the US Congressional, constituent and foreign policy towards Nigeria’s quest for democracy.

As a Nigerian-American human rights activist, lawyer, and Advocate, Emmanuel Ogebe is known for his work on various issues such as,  Human trafficking, Religious freedom & persecution, Nigerian politics cum governance, and International human rights law.
It is also on record, that this worthy Nigerian had testified before the United States Congress on human trafficking and Boko Haram activities in Nigeria, authored published articles, received recognitions for his advocacy works from various groups. It is also interesting to state here that Attorney Emmanuel has bagged awards from the United States President  for his humanitarian gestures.
For over decades, He approached the Chief Executive  Officer, Nigerian in the Diasporan Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa for her intervention and offered pro bono services for Emmanuel Ihejirika, whose case, according to him, appeared to be a mistaken identity, and he now offered to follow the case through.
He succeeded as he took the case up to the Supreme Court, and Ihejirika was finally released from the prison. For the kind act, this gentleman has received praises for the pro bono services he offered selflessly.
Mr. Ogebe has been a guest speaker at  radio and Television stations across the US. He has a vast experience in Management, Designing and Implementing complex international programs and projects in Nigeria For over a dozen years. All these qualities marked him out as an ultimate symbol of a true African.
